March ending

We are quickly approaching the end of March and the students @ GJHS are really excited about spring. P/T conferences went very well and students who did not have the grade they wanted are working hard to bring it up. It will be longer than expected until we are able to use the NEO2's for AR tests. I am very proud of the students who already have their goal met. Those of you that have not tested yet need to try and reach your goal early. It will be much easier to do it now rather than later. For a bonus point assignment you can write a paragraph about a new type of technology that is coming out and hand the paper in to me. Use you favorite search engine and don't forget to cite the web page where you found the information.

AR and NEO

Hello to all,
When we return from spring break on Monday March, 23 students will be able to take an AR test on the NEO's. I am very excited about the improvement to the J.H. If you read the news paper on Wednesday March, 11th then you might have read a little about it. Mr. Mason spoke about it at the board meet also. I hope it will give all of you students out there a better chance of making your goal. Don't forget to remind your parents of Parent Teacher conferences on Monday March 16th and Tuesday March 17th.

3rd nine weeks

Well this is the last week of the third nine weeks. I hope all of my students have been reading their AR books. Students who are looking for bonus points and are not able to post a comment you can write one and hand it to me. Your comment should be about the NEO post.

NEO's

My class has a wonderful learning opportunity this year. We have access to NEO's. NEO's are portable keyboards that the students use to complete their work. So far we have just scratched the surface on what we can do with them. I am just learning all the things they are capable of so expect great things later in the semester.

Week of Feburary 23 - 27 English

Last week in English we spent a lot of time working on finishing our literacy circles. The kids have been writing different assignments and will be finished with their final copies on Monday February 23rd. On Tuesday through Friday we will be working in our literature books finishing up poetry. Next week we will start in workbooks that will focus on individual PASS objectives that the students a required to know.
Remember: There's a vocabulary test on Tuesday and one again on Friday.
